Why MiX?

We like mixing things up: different ideas, different approaches, different influences, etc. Our projects are the result of continuous shuffling and blending. We merge together incongruous and unrelated elements into a completely new and unexpected whole. Hence the name MiX Architects.

About

MiX Architects is a young and dynamic architecture studio involved in multiple projects internationally.

Our work spans over a wide range of activities, yet our team is mainly engaged in the design and realization of tensile structures and landscape projects.

Our primary interests in tensile structures are in their potential for innovative technological solutions to create ecologically and socially responsible architecture. In fact, tensile architecture is lightweight, flexible and sustainable. It employs minimum material, has a reduced environmental impact and can be easily dismantled and recycled without leaving traces. Further, we are drawn to the formal qualities that emerge from the synthesis of architecture and engineering.

In our practice we like – as our name may suggest – mixing different disciplines, experiences, cultures, etc. We constantly question and challenge our own notions and presumptions. We believe that preconceptions limit innovation, while, confronting different ways of thinking and continuously exploring new grounds foster creativity and imaginativeness and lead inevitably to unexpected solutions – new solutions.
